My mission is to help you stop surviving and start thriving.
I'm Sara, and I challenge my clients to show up as their best self and empower them to live with clarity, passion, and purpose, so they can be fully engaged, joyful, confident, and fulfilled in all areas of their lives.
I grew up a small town country girl. I had a love for life, and the future seemed like the sky was the limit, but something happened, life.
For years the things I wanted to happen just didn’t happen. My life took a direction that I didn’t want, and instead of changing aspects of my life I began a downward spiral of self-sabotage. My entire life was a mess for years. My mental and physical health declined. My relationships were negative and unfulfilling. I dropped out of school. I found comfort in unhealthy habits. I declared bankruptcy. I lost everything during a divorce. The list could go on and on.
One day I woke up and decided "ENOUGH." I decided I was done with the self-pity, the blame game, the negative relationships, and the complete and total mess I was living. I was NOT the person I desperately longed to be, and I certainly didn’t think or feel the way I longed to think and feel.
I knew I wanted my life to change drastically, and I needed it to happen yesterday. I picked up a book, The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, and it was my first step to who I truly wanted to be. I learned that it was OK to start small, and that total transformation doesn't happen overnight. With this small "ah ha" moment,
my journey began...
A journey of learning, growing, and finding myself all over again… a journey of personal development, formal education, mentorships and trainings. A journey seeking happiness, passion, purpose and fulfillment. A journey of discovering how to create the life I wanted to live.
All it took was a choice. A choice and desire to learn how to change my own life. I started with books. My inner child “nerd” was in there somewhere and I read, literally all the time, for over a year. Reading led to research and classes, and I just kept learning and applying new skills. I was starting to create a better life. I was showing up more and more as my best self. I was creating new relationships and opportunities that catapulted my success. The stress, overwhelm, and anxiety I lived daily for years was melting away. I had a schedule that was aligned with my priorities and I was excited about life again. I took a leap and hired my first coach, which helped create the courage I needed to enroll in graduate school to pursue a Master's In Psychology with a Specialization in Leadership Coaching, and I haven't looked back.
I stopped holding myself back from success.
i started living a life that I wanted for the first time in over a decade.
It was the beginning of the real me, and who I am.
I had always been a happy, high performer at my core, just like you are, but I lacked the tools to achieve my true happiness and highest potential. Learning and implementing new thoughts, feelings, and habits transformed my own life, but I knew there was more to learn and implement to truly create the life of my dreams. After completing my undergraduate degree in psychology with highest honors, it has only gotten better.
I'm huge on education, and I felt I needed more knowledge and more training to truly serve others in the capacity I wanted to. That's when I discovered The High Performance Institute, and I committed to becoming a Certified High Performance Coach™ . I'm honored and proud to say, I’m one of 200 Certified High Performance Coaches™ in the world, and I have been blessed to be trained by one of my biggest personal influencers, Brendon Burchard, with a coaching program that is backed by years of psychological research. I also acquired a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a Specialization in Leadership Coaching with honors and a Positive Psychology Coaching Accreditation.
Everything I have done, education and certifications, have been backed by years of research and science to prove they work, and that was very important to me. I'm a total nerd and proud to admit that.
today, I feel fully engaged, present, joyful, confident, successful, fulfilled, and like the sky is the limit again, and my mission is for you to stop surviving and start thriving too.
I am sitting on a GOLD MINE of amazing knowledge from my formal education in psychology, a quadruple certified elite coaching certification, a positive psychology coaching certification, and extensive training from some of the top coaches and mentors in the industry, and a doctorate in life experience. Sara, M.S., CHPC Certified High Performance Coach™, PPCA Positive Psychology Coaching Accreditation
fun facts about me (because let’s not lie, we all have our things…)
My two favorite places in the world are the woods and the beach. The woods smells like home and the sea smells like ‘good for the soul.’
I have a deep appreciation for the true mentors and role models in my life, from my mom, my mom, my dad, some of my teachers in High School, a College professor, coaches, bosses, and friends who have taught me so much about myself and people. I do my best to keep in touch with them to this day.
I was born and raised in the country, so country is my roots. I will always have respect for country music, John Deere or any farmer (they work sooooo hard for us to eat). I am confident in my cowboy boots and flannel at a country show any day of the week or at the grocery store.
I am a multi-passionate person. I have had so many different passions and jobs that I have many skills that you would never think I have. Curious? Send me a message and ask! (Yes! I have done trapeze work so I will save you that message.)
I hate bananas. I know, weird! But ask my mom… I even spit them out as baby food. Anything banana is not for me!
I love cars, old and new. I grew up around old cars with my dad and new cars with friends, so I have an appreciation for an engine, body and torque.
I can drive a car, tractor or truck with a stick shift… so there is basically nothing I can’t drive. I am a good friend to have.
I have webbed toes, but contrary to popular thought, it doesn’t make me a better swimmer.
I read a lot. I belong to a book club where I live, but I love it because I have read amazing books that I would have never picked up.
One of my favorite activities is cooking, only because my partner Jamie and I play music while we cook in the kitchen. It’s cute too because our dog and cat always want to join in. He still can’t figure out how to hold an animal and dance, but he tries!
